VTech Whiz Kid

VTech Whiz Kid utilizes an interactive learning board with a cartridge. Each cartridge in the Whiz Kid software library system contains 20 double-sided activity pages from many knowledge areas.

Simply slide an activity page into the learning board and the Whiz Kid system is ready with many fun activities to play.

The fun never ends with over 100 different activities and games to play. If you lose a sheet, it’s no problem because you can print out another one from the included CD Rom! The Whiz Kid system even prints out a progress report so you can keep tabs on your child’s learning. The Whiz Kid system features a touch-sensitive screen and stylus. VTech Whiz Kid Learning System is a great way to merge learning with play! There is also a volume control and a spot to plug in headphones for those times that a quiet toy is needed. The activity pages help children learn about colors, shapes, art and music as well as improve their vocabulary, letter recognition, phonics, and math skills.

The first method of play is on the go with just the educational tablet which is about the size of a small laptop computer. It fits easily on a child’s lap making it great for the car and has a handy carry handle for traveling. The second method of play is at your home computer. It takes less than five minutes to plug it in to a PC and download the appropriate software to start it working. Just a note: it’s not compatible with a Mac. The activities pages come to life on the computer screen and your child will also be able to access the Whiz Kid website to play additional online games.

There seems to be an endless amount of learning available with the VTech Whiz Kid system and it will keep your children interested. Whiz Kid has many educational benefits, from language and cognitive development to logical thinking. It teaches everything from cause and effect and problem solving to early science concepts. There are activity sheets that help teach telling time, simple math with money, nursery rhymes, spelling and reading. Some activities are harder than others and are better for children closer to 5 or 6 but there are just as many aimed at the younger kids closer to three.
